Immeasurable Reality

by Adyashanti

In its true sense spirituality is not a plaything or a pastime. It has nothing to do with enhancing you or your status in the dream state. Nor is it about gurus in long flowing robes, secret oral teachings, ancient traditions, or holy books that people claim were written by God. It’s about here and now and you, and whether you are asleep within the dream state or awake within the awakened state.

It is the nature of all dreams that the characters therein are so busy being—well, dream characters—that the bigger reality of what lies outside the dream state eludes them. But then again, dream characters don’t wake up from the dreams they are a part of; the dreamer does. If spirituality is to be meaningful it must address what lies beyond the dream state that most of us create in our minds and humanity lives in day-to-day, for unless we awaken from our personal and collective dreams we will continue to live in a state of unconsciousness on the surface of a life of infinite potential.

Only that which is real and true has the power to liberate us from the mechanical and magnetic draw of the dream state. For ultimately it is ignorance (the belief in things that are untrue) that imprisons us within a trance state, which is induced by taking the conditioned stream of thinking within one’s mind to be true. If we are to awaken from the mind’s hypnotic embrace, we must question all of our beliefs and assumptions down to the very source of our being until that which is true, real, and everlasting reveals itself.

Truth is that which lies beyond the grasp of the dreaming mind. It is not something that can be captured and stated like a fact can. Truth is a timeless reality and therefore sacred in the true sense of the word. Please do not think of truth in mystical terms or even in spiritual terms. Truth refers to the whole of existence and beyond. Truth exists as much in your teacup as it does in your temples and churches. Truth is as present in shopping for your groceries as it is in chanting to God. To think of truth only in spiritual or religious terms is to miss the whole of it, for in doing so you create the boundaries and divisions that are the very antithesis of truth.

Truth is an immeasurable reality not at all separate from your own being. For in the revelation of truth, all beings rest within your being. Put more simply, if you cannot find it now underfoot, I’m afraid that you have missed it entirely.

A Multi-Dimensional Theory of Mind

By Gilbert Ross

The Quantum Physics of Consciousness

In philosophical debate, particularly in the philosophy of mind, the question of how mind and consciousness arise out of our matter, or more specifically, out of the physical neurological processes in our brain, has been a long-standing one and it has baffled scientists and philosophers alike. When we speak or think of mind, it seems natural to suppose that it is directly linked to our brain and our conscious thinking, including other cognitive functions. Even if, from our direct experience and observation, there is no direct evidence or clue that could lead us to unambiguously understand what mind is, we do collectively intuit that mind is a phenomenon that is deeply interrelated to our brain activity, and yet it is something more. But what is this ‘something’ more? This question alone has historically spurred some interesting theories of mind, together with various philosophical standpoints and debates.

The most common take on the nature of mind in modern Western thought is that mind is the same thing as brain activity and hence the question of ‘what if this something more?’ does not arise. This materialistic position on mind was born out of the classical scientific view and its influence on modern thought. It is called materialist because it assumes that mind is nothing more than matter. The philosophical idea coming out of this materialistic view is a reductionistic one, meaning that it assumes that phenomena such as mind and consciousness can be explained by reducing them to the physical and chemical processes occurring in the neurology of our brains. It is literally a flattened view of the world, since it reduces all phenomena to the dimension of matter, time and space, which are considered primary, according to this view.

The materialist view is that mind is the same thing as brain activity.

The Mind-Body Problem

The mainstream scientific position has led itself into a brick wall when it comes to understanding the phenomenon of consciousness. Philosopher of mind, David Chalmers, refers to this as the hard problem of consciousness, which is basically the problem of explaining subjective mental states of consciousness objectively in terms of physical processes, as required by the strict view of science. In simple words, how do we explain a particular feeling we have when we think of chocolate, in terms of neurons firing in our brain?

Other positions that do not subscribe to this reductionist view of mind, however, tend to face another problem–the problem of dualism. Basically, if we are to consider the mind as being separate from the brain, then this once again begs the question “What is mind?” and more specifically, “What is the relationship between the physical brain and mind?” The former is an ontological question asking about the nature of mind, while the latter is an epistemic one, which tries to understand the cause and effect relationship between brain and mind and how information and knowledge passes from one to the other, seeing that they are two different things.

The assumption that mind is different from the brain, such as–for example–that mind is non-material whereas the brain is material, gives rise to the so-called mind-body problem, first addressed by French philosopher René Descartes, who said that the mind and the body are two different substances. Bodies are extended in space, incapable of feeling or thought, whereas minds are unextended, thinking and feeling substances. Because they are two different substances, belonging to the material and non-material, and because there is no observable point of interaction between the two, then we cannot explain a causal relationship between the two. If we cannot come up with a causal explanation, for example, of how our internal mental states and beliefs give rise to behaviour, then some would argue that talking of mind would be superfluous.

Mind as Software and Emergent Effects

Despite this seemingly problematic position of the mind and brain co-existing in some form of relationship, the idea lived on in other theories and metaphors. One of the most popular metaphors, in fact, is borrowed from the computer sciences and which sees the mind as analogous to a software that runs on top of a hardware (or wetware)–the brain. This model has served particularly well in psychology and the cognitive sciences, where the non-material aspect of mind is seen as the software program and the material aspect of the brain is seen as the underlying hardware.

Another interesting position considers the mind as an emergent phenomena, resulting from the complex interactions of the neural processes in the brain. This theoretical position is a non-reductionistic one while at the same time it circumvents the mind-body problem because although mind is still considered as something other than the brain, the cause and effect link between the two can be explained in terms of emergent effects. The problem with this view, however, is that it still considers matter (the brain) to be primary and mind and consciousness as something that emerges out of matter, rather than being a fundamental aspect of the universe, such as time and space are.

8 Things You’re Doing Wrong With Garlic

By Heather Callaghan

For all the amazing health benefits of garlic – wouldn’t it be nice to know how to get the best benefits and stop wasting this superfood? Whether it’s eating, storing or cooking garlic – there are some things you need to know to get the best benefits.

Here are 8 amazing garlic hacks!

1.) You’re Eating It Way Too Soon – Garlic contains an enzyme “allinase” and “alliin” which converts to allicin when exposed to oxygen. This is the most highly prized component of garlic as it is a powerful antioxidant that also staves off infection. This process culminates between 5 and 15 minutes. Garlic that is raw is best eaten 15 minutes after it is crushed at room temperature. This is perfect because it can be crushed and set aside while you do other kitchen prep and then it can be eaten raw, on buttered toast or cooked into a meal. Waiting for the allicin enzyme reaction will even protect the benefits of garlic while cookingNever, ever attempt to swallow garlic whole – each clove is about the same exact size as the human esophagus.

2.) You’re Storing It Wrong – Some people refrigerate garlic and some people leave it on the counter or on top of the fridge – but this is a terrible waste. Garlic is best stored in a mesh or ventilated bag and kept in a dark, cool and dry place. This way, it will keep for three to five months, saving your garlic and money.

3.) You’re Spending Hours Peeling It – There are easy ways to peel multiple garlic cloves at once. Smash the bulb with your palm, place in a jar with a lid or mixing bowl with some kind of lid and shake! shake! shake! You can also place cloves in a cup of hot water while you prep, and the peels will come right off. To peel just one clove, carefully press the flat side of a large knife over the clove and press to crush the skin.

Watch it in action and keep your fingernails clean:

4.) You’re Burning It – When cooking, garlic is among the first things to burn and you don’t want to eat burnt, blackened food. When sauteing, saute your onions or other goods first until nearly done, then add your sliced or crushed garlic. If using garlic in the oven – say, on roasted veggies with butter – try to either add garlic later or mix with butter and then mix into the other ingredients down into your casserole dish. Adding garlic last while cooking is good for flavor that will last long into leftovers.

5.) You’re Throwing It Out – It should be the rarest occasion to have to throw garlic away, especially if you’re storing it right. Garlic can be peeled, washed, and frozen for future use. The skins can be used in compost. But the biggest mistake people make (including myself!) is throwing it away when it starts to sprout. This doesn’t mean it has gone bad – some say the benefits multiply when it sprouts. But, if the sprouting bothers you, simply plant it!

6.) You Smell Like It – There’s no need! Parsley, fennel seeds and peppermint essential oil can neutralize the smelly sulfur compounds that travel quickly through the body and out the lungs. Got garlic hands? Rub them on stainless steel. You can use your sink or this block.

The Healing Power Of Garlic Supported By New Scientific Study

By Jason Erickson

Science is once again documenting much of what the natural health community has touted for ages. In this case, it’s the power of garlic to aid in healing even chronic infections.

Of course we at Natural Blaze have provided a veritable mountain of supporting evidence, both scientific and anecdotal, for the many amazing health benefits of garlic that include everything from killing infection to killing cancer. Nevertheless, we are always delighted when we read about new science that we can add to the database.

Researchers from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark have isolated a compound called ajoene that is believed to be the source of the powerful antibiotic properties produced in garlic. They are now studying exactly how ajoene functions when it interacts with bacteria.

Self-Awareness, The Wheel of Societies, Simultaneous Awareness

art by Kouji Oshiro

by Aug Tellez

Whatever the masses do, in this age, is usually not the path of intelligence. Expecting that the true intentions behind major changes and trends are something other than is presented is more intelligent than assuming there is only one layer of events and changes.

Nothing is as it ‘seams’ on the surface. There are always various plans at play. Time and consciousness are linked through perception and so if you alter one then the others are changed. This can happen internally through self-control and this can happen externally through scalar or radiant energy systems that produce an electrogravitic distortion field which affects living beings.

Most would like to see this civilization become self-sufficient and independent from mind control to benefit the universe. It’s not that easy however. It’s an awakening, just like for one person, but for everyone that has to happen and will happen. The issue is whether the amount of power, knowledge and memory released through this will be sufficiently transferred into something beneficial and harmonious for this civilization. Change is inevitable but if the momentum is not handled in a balanced manner then the result is not a fulfilment of self-knowledge but a catalyzation of one’s own destruction. This is how each civilization has risen and fallen previously however many have succeeded in becoming a self-sufficient society. This indicates not that they make their own food, but that they tap into the universal energy fields and can sustain themselves without having to disrupt the material universe. They are harmonized, in effect, with ‘larger’ or more powerful energies that are present across the entire universe instead of just one location or food source.

That kind of event is an event that links the mind of the individual with their higher mind. Many people have awareness of this and yes as some people deduce on the internet, what were previously hidden truths about this reality are unveiled to the general population. Still, all knowledge is coded to some degree that it is being transferred in a secondary term and so the knowledge requires one’s own mind to work like a lock and the piecing together of various interconnected pieces of information as the key. The idea here is that the information will be plain to see for some yet obscured and confusing for others. Some will be empowered by it and others will be depressed. This is the nature of the human mind and the difference in all the preparations for this time is that the majority will know the truth and live in harmony while only a small percentage simply doesn’t get it.

This is the spooky outcome that people are observing, and the more they focus on reducing that, the more power that illusory future has. Living in a world where the majority is collectively highly intelligent, spiritually aware, self-aware and in respect of one another’s path in a harmonious and compassionate way, sounds like science fiction. Another time or place. This is not an absurdity, and in a way, neither is the way people are so distraught today.

There are multiple hidden truths that have been suppressed over many generations and as well many that have been released or possibly leaked. These all center around the great conspiracy. Each supposed conspiracy is just a cover for what is happening and each variation of the covers take one’s attention away from the center in alternate directions. When one knows only that surface level of explanation, the mind is pulled apart into many contradictory assumptions or conclusions about reality.

This is the nature of the protection of knowledge and the use of deceptive tactics which has always happened and even reflects the way your conscious mind is limited to a very small spectrum of sensory input, memories, temporal scope and self-awareness. The very system we use to experience this reality is a kind of deceptive unit that develops organic smoke and mirrors to keep the individual ‘moving forward’ even if they do not know why they must continue. That is the drive of life which is mirrored by the death urge. When one can control both the urge to live that pushes them forward and the urge to die which results in lack of progress then they can be present in a balanced perspective instead of focusing on the future, memories, traumas, addictions, distractions, fears, and so on. Focusing on the information that we are fed by the belief-system that is generated within us before we have the self-awareness to defend against such influences always leads one to reshaping the mind and the abilities to further depend on a constricting system that is designed under the guise of happenstance but is actually a carefully thought out and orchestrated system of mind control. Beliefs, whatever they are, are the input for the operating system to change administrative controls of your mind. If you are not developing your own beliefs and questioning them, then whoever is, has creative access to your mind and thus your development and self-awareness.

This is part of how not only the material world has been manipulated but that this equally influences the “afterlife” which is actually the simultaneously occurring higher-dimensional interactions between one’s scalar energy of the mind and heart and the fields of information in society as a whole through DNA and energy coherence which either produces a repulsion or an attraction depending on what one is focusing on.

One thing to say here is that there is no one side of reality. Where there is one side of duality, that is perspectively, from another angle, what the other side of the duality is to you. How people want to align their perspective us up to them. One would conclude that there are ultimately two ‘sides’ to everything and that one can choose to perceive in accordance with one side, the other, or even a combination of both. Possibly, the middle path of associating equally with both and therefore with the idealization of both paths is a way to move into self-awareness and a heightened sense of presence. Possibly, that is a path leading astray and the only way to truly pass through this place is to acknowledge but involve one’s self in neither and through that a third which is all encompassing. These are possibly pathways found through the projection of the mind and one’s belief system as a kind of developmental system that one uses to alter their perspective of reality until they find the most beneficial, effective, and accurate model. The conclusion here, is that “no model” may be the most accurate, or that when you finally see the ‘true model’, you may say it was simply what you always knew but could never put into words and therefore can never actually learn it.

This does not mean there is not an organized model of the consciousness experience here, but that the beliefs we are taught actually influences anything in relation to that are actually distractions and in that sense, no belief is closer to the truth because in that perspective there is only a direct link to experience between the self and the body here and that is without alteration.

Another way to put this, is that people are unaware of the larger nature of the universe and through this they are effectively ‘sleeping’ both in the material universe of higher intellect and creativity as well as in the non-physical realms where the mind is distracted or unable to create beyond certain limitations developed through reconfiguration of the brain. There is always another layer, for instance, one may eventually conclude that the very configuration of the brain, whether through manipulation or something else, is what leads to a complete amnesia of one’s higher self-awareness and leads to limitations in a higher mental plane. One could go from there and question whether this is a natural occurrence, maybe like one could compare to animals, or whether this was some kind of intelligent manipulation as part of some attack or maybe even a degeneration of the gene pool. For every answer there is another question, however, again, there are answers to your questions that are not metaphoric however the nature of consciousness and the material universe requires much discipline to understand.

One thing we’ve learned is that the farther back you go outside of your current spatiotemporal reference, the more information will appear that is current outside the sphere of reference. Meaning, if you go far enough back, you get a system that reflects this one in a kind of outline, however all the key players and all the surface level models are entirely foreign.

I can take this one step further and tell you something that has been concluded before but is still just another system, possibly one that we are looking for the release from. What you would get if you could view the universe beyond this spatiotemporal reference is relativity or probability would extend in a kind of inverse square law of proportions that would retain all the same information as long as you stayed within the relatively local closed timeline curve of the information of your reality. When one moves outside of this by viewing, calculating, projecting, travelling and essentially the use of advanced and organic technology (the mind) to perform these observations, there is no true definitive outline of the reality they have left and the reality they are observing.

We Are The World That We Perceive: Riccardo Manzotti

Neuroscientist Riccardo Manzotti proposes a radical hypothesis: that we are the world that we perceive. But this world consists not of absolute, externally aloof objects, abstractions that are described by mathematical equations, but of objects which only exist relative to the perceiver, which keep changing because we the observers keep changing. There is no need to abandon the belief in a physical world; it is only our poor understanding of physics that prevents us from finding consciousness in the physical world. It is our bodies that bring the world into existence, and our idea of the object is identical to the object itself; our experience of the apple is the apple. We don’t have to look for ourselves inside the brain. To find consciousness we should look at objects, not at the brain.

Who Are We Really? (Beyond Body, Thoughts, Emotions and Personality)

By Ervin K. Kery | Mindfulness Meditation

The Mysteries of our Body

Our sensory organs tell us that our body is solid and permanent. In reality, however, our body changes permanently, like the currents of a river.

Upon taking a breath, over atoms arrive into our body, they are incorporated into our cells, and the same amount leaves our body when we breathe out. 98% of the atoms of our body is replaced in a period shorter than a year: the liver is completely renewed in 6 weeks, the skin in days, the bones are fully replaced in 3 months, and the DNA is renewed in 6 weeks. The atoms of your body as it existed a year ago are now all outside of your present body: in the atmosphere, in the soil or incorporated into other living organisms, grass and trees… that is how the entire planet recycles itself in a perpetual cycle. We live in close interconnection and interaction with all other things, everything is in the state of a constant change and transformation.

The only permanent thing is change. We still tend to experience the permanence of our Self.. Is it possible that we are not identical with our body?

In the Captivity of Thoughts

What are thoughts? The philosopher Descartes announced that, ”I think, therefore I am!” This erroneous assumption influences our identity even in the present day. Our thoughts, just like the cells of our body, are constantly replaced with new ones; a thought emerges and then vanishes, and new thoughts and ideas-associated with the previous one-appear in a constant stream. Among the thoughts stream there is a small gap, a little space. This space is the space of Consciousness, in which a thought can appear.

We are proud of being able to think. But are we really the ones who think? Are we really in control of our thoughts, are we the ones who intend to think?

I invite you to carry out a simple, nonetheless astonishing experiment:
Take a watch or a stopwatch, and decide that you are not going to think for a while, as long as you are able to do so! Well, how long has it taken until the first thought slipped into your mind? 5-10 seconds? Are you able to avoid thinking for minutes?

You will be astonished: you are incapable of not thinking. Thinking takes place, it happens to you. The thoughts thinks you, and it is not you who thinks it. You do not do it at will (if it depended it on your will, you could simply avoid thinking), and you are unable to suppress thinking or keep it under control.

It is not we who think, but the thoughts keep us under control with its compelling force. It is the constant stream of thoughts that cover up the existence of the Consciousness.

The Pitfall of our Emotions

Emotions work in a similar manner: they emerge and vanish in the space of the Consciousness.

Emotions, at the same time, influence our lives to a large extent: they are able to generate lasting addiction. Every emotion has its own neuropeptide, a type of hormone, which is created by the brain and sent to our cells through the circulation of blood. These peptides are very powerful chemicals, and if they keep bombarding our cells for an extended period of time, they induce addiction. Once you have become addicted, you will unconsciously strive to create situations in your life in which you are able to satisfy your addiction. If you are, for instance, an anger-addict, you will seek situations in which the ”anger-peptide” addiction of your cells will be satisfied.

Our body is not constant, it is continually renewed–we therefore cannot be identical with our body. Our emotions and thoughts are not constant either. What we refer to as ”Self,” on the other hand, exists permanently. The time has come to ask the question: if we are identical neither with the constantly changing body nor with the similarly changing thoughts and emotions, WHO WE REALLY ARE?

Reality – Constructing the Separation Game

By Jeff Street | Guest writer for Wake Up World

In this article, I’m diving into a topic that I alluded to in The Origin, Purpose, and Destiny of the Earth Game — how and why we created the reality system that we are all currently experiencing. Just to be clear, by “WE” I mean our non-physical higher selves and beyond. Understanding why “we” conceived of this reality, and the key elements of its design and construction (yes, all realities are constructs) is very illuminating and will give you a whole new perspective on your experience within it. And perhaps more importantly, it might even catalyze a shift in your consciousness.

Conceiving of the Separation Game

In most of the multitude of realities that “we” created and then played within we knew, to varying degrees, what we were — creator beings that are integral parts of the One creator being — Source consciousness, prime creator, God, or whatever else you like to call it.

But within this great diversity of realities, there were none in which we completely forgot what we were — and this possibility intrigued us immensely.  What would that be like and what could it teach us?  It certainly seemed like it might be very interesting, to say the least.

So in our eternal quest to know ourselves and the nature of our existence, we set out to create this new type of reality — one where we would completely lose our connection to our divine source, forget that we are creators and all integral parts of One universal consciousness.  A reality where we would think we were separate from the creator and each other. A reality where we would experience the greatest degree of individuality and separation anywhere in the Multiverse — a reality that could aptly be called “The Separation Game.”

Our entire Universe is a manifestation of the separation game.  It’s like a huge multi-stage set where the separation game is playing out on many worlds and at many levels.  One of the worlds where the separation game is in full swing is our very own planet Earth.

When we conceived of this reality, it was not at all obvious how to create it, and many of us (our higher non-physical selves) thought it might be impossible.  But eventually, with much experimentation, we hit upon a combination of many elements that did the trick.

Key Elements of the Separation Game Design

Some of the key elements that allowed this reality system to be achieved were “The Veil of Forgetting”, the delay between our thoughts and their manifestation into reality, the role of “The Adversary”, and the “Emotion Construct Holders”. Let’s dive in and explore each of these.

The Veil of Forgetting and Unknowing

The number one mechanism that enables this reality system to function as the separation game that we intended is the Veil of Forgetting.  When we incarnate we completely forget that we are eternal non-physical creator beings (our souls and beyond) and that we are integral parts of the one universal consciousness. When we incarnate we completely forget that we chose and planned this incarnation and our reasons for doing so.  This forgetting is obviously essential for the separation game to work.  Without it, we simply would not believe that we were separate individuals at the mercy of circumstances trying to survive in a cold, cruel world. The Veil is absolutely required to produce an experience of separation.

The Veil does more than make us forget as we enter our incarnation, it also “filters” the information that might be available to us so we can’t rediscover our true nature. This function of the Veil might be best termed the “Veil of Unknowing” and what it essentially does is to guarantee that we cannot prove that all is one. Anything that approaches irrefutable proof of our oneness with All That Is will always include sufficient cause for doubt that we cannot be sure and will have to make up our own mind.

But since the most fundamental truth about everything is its inherent oneness, and since the Veil hides this from us, then it follows that it must hide the deepest nature of everything because knowing the deepest nature of anything would inevitably lead to knowing the oneness of all. So we can know about the surface of things, but the Veil blocks us from knowing the true cause. Despite the popular belief that science has gotten close to understanding everything, it is very far from the truth. If you take a long hard look at modern science, you will realize that we understand only the surface layers but don’t understand anything to its core. And this is because of the Veil of Unknowing.
